Serbia has almost 9 million sour cherry trees and more than 100 thousand tons of sour cherries can be produced.
The vast majority of sour cherries grown in Serbia are of the Oblacinska variety. Apart from fresh, sour cherries are consumed as preserves, jams, juices and liqueurs. Can be used also in production of yoghurts, bakery and confectionery industry.
